YOUR NAME
Determine what you would like for a Domain Name. Names may or may not be
available so make a few different choices. Your Domain Name must comply with these guidelines:
A domain name can be up to
67 characters long -
including the 3 to 5 letter extension. The Dot '.' between the name and extension is also
counted. example: widgets.com (11 characters) or widgets.info
(12 characters).
The name may contain letters, numbers and the hyphen
symbol '-'. All other characters are not allowed. example: widgets-are-us.com
(Ok, 18 characters). widgets-r-us!.com (Not ok, letters numbers and
hyphens
only - no other characters '!')
The https:// and WWW
do not count against the maximum
character count.
VERIFY
YOUR CHOICE (S) ARE NOT IN USE
Your next step is to determine if your choices for your Domain Name are already in use by other
organizations. This is called a "Whois" search.
